- Approval rating for Liberals at 31.4%
- “Pi” COVID-19 variant putting Canadians out of jobs and homes

As Canada grapples with a new COVID-19 variant, “Pi”, the political landscape is in turmoil. Upon widespread criticism for inaction regarding the pandemic, the Liberals and NDP have at long last reached a compromise on a formal confidence-and-supply agreement. Meanwhile, the approval rating for the Liberals is at an all-time-low at 31.4% according to a new Angus Reid Institute poll.
Amidst the pandemic, the cabinet focuses on pressing matters including the housing crisis, cost of living, and funding towards COVID-19 research initiatives.
“Housing is not an asset to be bought and flipped and sold,” Jagmeet Singh, leader of the NDP party says in an emotional speech, “Rather, it is a basic necessity that every Canadian has a right to, and it must be regarded as such.”
As the Pi variant slowly grows to becoming the dominant variant in Canada, the housing crisis is becoming an increasingly demanding issue. Many Canadians are unemployed and quarantined, and it is up to the Canadian Ministry to help its citizens in their time of need. While the Cabinet has yet to come to a consensus for taking action, the ministers seem to have a shared perspective of focusing on researching a cure for the Pi variant, and more specifically, finding a solution to the steadily emerging housing crisis.
