NASA is ignoring Astronauts?

Below is the transcription of an Interview conducted with Karen Feldstein NASA’s Associate Administrator for International and Interagency Relations.

NYT: How are you feeling about your committees second topic?
Karen: I like the second topic more than the first one. It’s more general and it doesn’t go too far into depth. I’m liking it.
NYT: What is the second topic?
Karen: The well being of Astronauts.
NYT:How does your roll fit into this topic?
Karen: Honestly it doesn’t that much, because i’m international relations. I contribute the best that I can but this isn’t my specialty.
NYT: On a scale from 1-10 how prepared would you say you feel for your committee?
Karen: I would say a solid 6 or 7. It could be more but I also don’t feel underprepared.
NYT: Would you recommend this committee to other delegates?
Karen:Yes, I was nervous but I thought I would do worse than I am. Now that the committee is going it is really fun.
NYT:What has been the craziest thing that someone has said during committee?
Karen: People are trying to silence the astronauts for speaking up about their mental health and just threatening to ban them or fine them.
NYT:What part of your committee would you say has been the best part? Does it run like a normal committee?
Karen: It runs like a normal committee, there’s nothing different about it. This is my first committee with this small number of delegates, I’ve never been in a committee this small
NYT: Do you like having a smaller committee size or do you prefer the larger committees?
Karen: I like having the smaller committee way more. I didn’t know if I would but I do.
NYT: And my last question, what is your hot take on your committee?
Karen: Don’t tell anyone this cause my committee is going to hate me. Someone brought up the idea of sending support animals to space and I said no their not they would be fine, but everyone was like no and hated that idea. Everyone hates Bill (the executive who brought up the idea). I really like Bill though and I agree with his ideas but I can’t express my support cause the whole committee hates him.
NYT: Thank you so much for your time!
