The nation of China is under great duress as their “long march” retreat tactic seems to be backfiring greatly. Reports of heavy casualties have some key members of the Chinese peoples party wanting to put an end to the violence. Lin Boqu a member of the party has come forwards with a proposal suggesting what he nicknamed “Dumpling Diplomacy.” In this proposal, he suggests that soldiers on both sides should “[p]ut down their rifles and pick up chopsticks so they may eat dumplings together as comrades.” This sentiment seems to be strongly supported through the party, however it is not without criticism. Some representatives have spoken out against this actions as they believe they are not in the right place to sue for peace. They believe that they need a more stable structure in order to receive better terms of peace.
Lin Boqu responded to this statement in saying that they must not waiver as “[Generalissimo Stalin] is unable to even tie his own shoes because of the fact that he has dissentary.” He makes it clear that he has no belief in the facade of strength that Stalin attempts to project.
The BBC is of the belief that “Dumpling Diplomacy” could be a great solution to such a bloody conflict. Everyone involved would benefit from a lasting peace and stronger relations.
