Blow Up the Antarctic? Estonian Delegation Leaves the Committee Speechless – Literally

“Shocked and appalled” is the only quote to describe the current Arctic Council circumstance. The Estonian delegate shocked the entire committee room to suggest removing Antarctica altogether.

“The Estonian delegate is in favour of blowing up the Antarctic.” The delegate stands up, delivers his message, and swiftly leaves the stage to be met with chatter and confusion. The Fox News reporter on site is left bewildered and questions the mental capacity of the delegate as a result.

The dais, to his surprise, responds with, “Thank you delegate for your…. controversial speech?” Such a situation is the most confusing incident yet: to suggest such an act is completely unreasonable and let alone impossible. Delegates are seemingly unprepared to hear such a ridiculous comment let alone how to respond to it. The Arctic has been uninhabitable for centuries and holds no significant value to blow up. To blow up such a continent requires substantial resources and money which the Estonian delegate did not admit to having. On the other hand, the popularity of such statements is at an all-time low, with his remark being quickly overshadowed by other delegate speeches.

It is unknown whether the Estonian delegation plans to follow through with his plans, but it seems unlikely he will receive any future support. Truly, the delegation has blundered.
